Qualifications

• Current RN license in California.
• 1 year recent experience in Labor and Delivery or completion of KP L&D course within the last 12 months.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required.
• Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct, review, assign, and organize the work of at least three employees, including one RN.
• Provide professional leadership and direction to maintain efficient patient care delivery.
• Coordinate departmental operations and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees and team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and standards of practice.
• Participate in patient flow activities including admission and discharge processes.
• Conduct audits to ensure thorough documentation of assessments and care plans.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff competencies.
• Adjust staffing needs to assure quality patient care and safety.
• Motivate staff to improve performance, attendance, and service quality outcomes.
