Lead, ISO (Information Security Officer) (remote)

The Lead, Information Security Officer provides security leadership to a subsidiary in Humana’s Home Health organization. This is a strategic leadership role, focused specifically on information security within the CenterWell provider organization.
The Lead, ISO requires an in-depth understanding of how organizational capabilities interrelate across functions. This role will coordinate activities across organizational and disciplinary security functions, operations, and product teams, working with business and technology stakeholders to identify needs and deploy security capabilities and processes.
This role demands high leadership abilities, stakeholder management skills, and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Leadership: Serve as the single point of contact (SPoC) for security, develop and implement strategies aligned with organizational goals, and manage budgets and performance metrics.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with departments and executive leadership to integrate cybersecurity measures and communicate complex concepts effectively.
- Security Posture Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance security protocols, staying ahead of cybersecurity trends.
- Budget and Resource Management: Oversee threat response budgets and resources for optimal security outcomes.
- Team Management and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop security teams to excel in their roles.
Other Responsibilities:
- Track and develop key risk indicators (KRIs) related to security operations.
- Develop staff skills in cybersecurity and personal growth.
- Maintain knowledge of industry and regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, PCI-DSS.
- Communicate professionally with all organizational levels and external partners.
- Manage talent engagement, well-being, and development to build a high-performing team.
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years in cybersecurity, with experience in Application, Infrastructure, and Data Security.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, incident response, threat landscapes, and industry frameworks.
- Proficiency in systems thinking, project management, process flows, cloud platforms (O365, Azure, GCP, AWS), and presentation skills.
Desirable:
- Advanced security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC.
Remote/Work-from-Home Requirements:
- High-speed internet access (minimum 25x10 Mbps), dedicated space, no ongoing interruptions.
- Satellite or wireless internet not permitted.
Travel may be required occasionally for training or meetings.
Compensation and Benefits:
Annual salary: $129,300 - $177,800, plus bonus potential based on performance. Humana offers comprehensive benefits supporting wellness, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, disability, and life insurance.
