Job summary

The Boeing Company in North Charleston, SC, is seeking a Lead Interiors Payloads Support Engineer (Level 5) to provide M&P engineering support for the 787 program and Interiors Responsibility Center. This role requires leadership across composites, metals, finishes, fasteners, and related processes within the Interiors domain.

You will lead teams, define strategies, review drawings, and qualify new materials and tools, while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
5+ years of experience leading an engineering team.
5+ years of experience with composites, metals, finishes, or fasteners.
10+ years of experience supporting the production system.
10+ years experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
10+ years experience interpreting engineering drawings and/or specifications.

Responsibilities

Lead others, establish work statement, define strategies and provide consultation with peers.
Support design engineering in material and process definition and selection of Interiors components and flight deck structures.
Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with material and process requirements and objectives.
Develop tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements.
Leads projects to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
Incorporate environmental health and safety, Lean and Quality principles into materials and processes.
