Job summary

The Boeing Company in North Charleston, SC is seeking an Experienced or Senior Level Interiors Payloads Support Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to provide Materials & Processes engineering support to the 787 Program and Interiors Responsibility Center.

This role requires knowledge of Interiors materials and processes used in aerospace, including composites, metals, finishes, and fasteners. Travel up to 10–15% and first shift responsibilities emphasize safety and quality.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, computer science, math, physics or chemistry.
• 5+ years in engineering or manufacturing.
• 5+ years interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Experience with composites, metals, finishes, or fasteners.

Responsibilities

• Support design engineers in material and process definition and selection for Interiors components and flight deck structures.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with material and process requirements.
• Support material and process design consultation, production support, and fleet support.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams to evaluate technical information and issues.
• Develop tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials and processes.
• Qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
• Integrate new materials and processes as appropriate.
• Conduct analyses to determine performance or reasons for failures.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
• Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles.
