Job summary

Boeing in North Charleston, SC is seeking an Experience or Senior Lead Design Engineer to guide Payloads interiors programs on the 787 project. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, set technical strategy, and ensure safe, certifiable, manufacturable interiors products.

You will collaborate with customers and suppliers, manage design reviews, and drive program execution while prioritizing continuous improvement and quality across development, certification and production phases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in design, integration, and certification in aerospace or related industries.
• Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and driving technical programs to delivery.
• Experience presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering direction and technical strategy for the assigned Payloads team across requirements, development, certification, production, and post-production phases.
• Provide technical leadership and be the primary technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage engineering work statement and execution with a focus on technical excellence and first-pass quality.
• Ensure design compliance with FAA/EASA, Boeing and customer requirements.
• Drive technical design reviews and lead configuration management activities, change control, and release processes with product and program teams.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and team capability development.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary functions to support new design development and meet customer needs.
