Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Lead Instrumentation Coordinator to oversee sterilization, assembly, and delivery of surgical instruments across multiple sites. The role ensures aseptic handling, standardizes instrument trays, and coordinates with OR schedules to prevent delays.

You will also train CCS Technicians and Instrumentation Coordinators, promote compliance with clinical standards, and liaise with offsite CSS locations to optimize instrument flow.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; CRCST certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
• 4 years of relevant experience required; 6+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, and/or clean clinic or healthcare equipment for surgeries and procedures.
• Ensure sterilized instruments and supplies are safely reusable to prevent infections.
• Serve as a clinical liaison between Operating Rooms and offsite CSS locations to track and allocate instrumentation.
• Manage tray movement logistics and standardize instrument trays across the enterprise.
• Monitor OR schedules to ensure instrumentation is processed and delivered without delay.
• Provide clinical orientation for CCS Technicians and Instrumentation Coordinators and reinforce standards.

Education

High School diploma or GED

CRCST certification (HSPA) or CSPDT certification (CBSPD)

Associate degree in relevant field (preferred)
