Job Overview

The Lead Install Technician is responsible for installing, terminating, and commissioning a wide range of physical security products and systems. As a customer-facing role, the technician must be personable, knowledgeable, and proactive, capable of making sound decisions that benefit both clients and the company. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the ability to collaborate closely with the PMO, Program, and Project Managers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  2. Install various physical security devices and systems according to engineered drawings.
  3. Be willing to travel up to 60% of the time, sometimes on short notice.
  4. Identify and resolve issues that could negatively impact job productivity.
  5. Complete all necessary paperwork related to job tickets thoroughly.
  6. Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  7. Communicate all activity to the Project Manager or Field Supervisor promptly.
  8. Keep company-provided vehicle in good condition and clean.
  9. Maintain a safe driving record and report incidents or near misses immediately.
  10. Attend required product or safety training sessions.
Experience & Knowledge
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least 5 years of field installation experience in security.
  3. Solid understanding of copper and fiber data communication (fiber, transport equipment, etc.).
  4. Experience with multiple Access Control platforms.
  5. Knowledge of analytics and other video products.
  6. Experience installing door hardware such as strikes.
  7. Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings.
  8. Experience marking up or 'red lining' drawings after installation.
  9. Experience working in NERC-CIP environments is a plus.
  10. Experience in substation operations and protocols is a plus.
  11. Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
  12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  13. Strong work ethic, teamwork, and a 'can do' attitude.
  14. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  15. Strong problem-solving skills.
