Retail Insight seeks a Lead Insight Analyst to turn data into actionable insights for retail clients. You’ll partner with internal teams and client stakeholders to translate complex data into practical guidance that drives commercial value.

The role emphasises analytical leadership, mentoring junior analysts, and shaping insight solutions with cross-functional teams to meet evolving client needs.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data, analytics or insight-focused roles.
• Experience working with business stakeholders or external clients to understand requirements and deliver meaningful insights.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and identify opportunities.
• Proven ability to translate data into practical, commercially focused recommendations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence to engage stakeholders at different levels.
• Experience managing analytical projects and balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive approach, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and propose solutions.
• Experience mentoring other analysts would be advantageous.
• Experience within grocery retail, FMCG or consumer-facing industries would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a trusted analytics partner, building strong relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Managing and delivering bespoke, ad-hoc insight requests across a range of business functions.
• Translating complex datasets into meaningful, actionable recommendations that drive commercial value.
• Identifying trends, risks and opportunities within retail performance data.
• Presenting analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, engaging and compelling way.
• Leading analytical projects from initial brief through to delivery, ensuring high-quality outputs and timely execution.
• Supporting and mentoring junior analysts, sharing knowledge and promoting analytical best practice.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency, quality and alignment with client objectives.
• Helping to shape and evolve our insight solutions based on changing client needs and business priorities.
• Proactively identifying opportunities to improve analytical processes, approaches and outcomes.
