MARS Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Lead Mold Maker in Milwaukee, WI. The role targets individuals with strong plastic injection mold-building skills and CAD interpretation abilities to guide supporting toolmakers and apprentices.

You will lead mold construction, evaluate existing molds, and communicate improvements. The position requires independent tooling planning using CAD models and engineering prints, plus hands-on use of shop equipment.

Formación

• Journeyman Toolmaker certification or at least 10 years of toolmaker experience.
• Strong plastic injection mold-building experience.
• Ability to plan and build new tooling independently using CAD models and engineering prints.
• Experience evaluating and executing mold repairs and engineering changes.
• Proficiency operating tool room equipment, including surface grinders, manual mills, cutoff saws, and drill presses.
• CAD experience; SolidWorks and/or Mastercam preferred.
• Skilled in precision measuring equipment and machining components to required tolerances.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the construction of new plastic injection molds and tooling.
• Evaluate, maintain, and repair existing molds.
• Identify tooling improvements and communicate technical recommendations.
• Delegate work to supporting toolmakers, apprentices, and other departments.
• Coordinate steel preparation and heat-treatment vendor pickups.
• Perform final mold assembly, inspection, and dimensional verification.
• Complete and maintain mold inspection documentation.
• Support quality, safety, and housekeeping requirements.
