Job summary

Excellus Health Plan Inc. is seeking an experienced Information Security Architect to help develop and execute the organization’s risk management strategy and IT security program.

The role provides technical expertise and serves as a trusted security advisor to business and IT leaders, ensuring a secure, risk-based, cost-effective infrastructure and application design. The candidate will lead security architecture initiatives, mentor staff, and collaborate across divisions to protect information

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in an Information Technology Security Role.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or relevant field; if no degree, six (6) additional years of experience.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills with ability to balance stakeholder interests.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders inside and outside the Organization.
• Experience with IAM, AD/LDAP, MFA, PKI, and network/security controls.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, PCI/DSS, ISO27001 and NIST standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security architecture principles and standards aligned to the Organization's strategy.
• Drive adoption and compliance of security standards across development and infrastructure teams.
• Create functional and technical security requirements and manage them through the project lifecycle.
• Lead risk-based assessments of solutions and vendors to ensure proper security controls.
• Provide security consultation, design reviews, and recommendations for projects.
• Mentor department staff and provide subject matter expertise to the division.
