Job summary

The Y! is seeking a dedicated teacher to work with Infants and Toddlers (ages 6 weeks to 2 years) in a 40-hour work week with strong benefits, including a YMCA membership. The role leads classroom activities, coordinates curriculum, and partners with families to support child development.

Responsibilities include planning developmentally appropriate experiences, mentoring assistants, and maintaining safety and documentation while collaborating with a broader team to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field.
• Coursework and/or certifications in early childhood education must be completed or in-progress.
• Experience teaching infants, toddlers, or preschool-age children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
• Lead by example and coach teaching teams to ensure high-quality instruction.
• Plan age-appropriate activities to support social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
• Maintain regular communications with parents through discussions, reports, and conferences.
• Ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards are met in the learning environment.
• Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers.
• Maintain accurate records and pursue professional development.
