Job summary

Berkshire Family YMCA is seeking an Infant Teacher to support children six weeks to twelve months. You will create a safe, nurturing classroom and implement age-appropriate activities to promote growth across physical, emotional, and cognitive domains, while partnering with families to ensure consistency.

This role emphasizes strong communication, adherence to health and safety standards, and collaboration with caregivers to support each child's development.

Qualifications

About The Role

As an Infant Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the early development of children aged six weeks to twelve months. Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of infants. You will implement age-appropriate activities that encourage exploration and learning, while also fostering secure attachments with each child. Collaboration with parents and caregivers will be essential to ensure a consistent approach to each child's development. Ultimately, your efforts will lay the foundation for lifelong learning and social skills in the children you teach.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent certification.
• Experience working with infants or young children in a childcare setting.
• Certified under Child Development Division (CDD).

Preferred Qualifications

• An associate's or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience with developmental assessments and individualized education plans.
