Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity.

• Associate or Bachelor degree or college credits in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services preferred.
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Child care experience preferred.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn.
• Be patient and kind with parents and children.
• Cultivate a safe and nurturing environment encouraging physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
• Adjust curriculum to ensure that all children meet learning objectives.
• Follow state and YMCA guidelines to ensure safety and wellbeing of children.

What is needed for this job

• Are 21+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
• High school diploma
• Associate/Bachelor degree or college credits from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Child care experience preferred
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances
