Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an assistant teacher for a full-time, hourly role in Mount Vernon Gardens, PA. The position focuses on nurturing great minds through engaging activities, community connection, and fun.

You will assist in planning curricula, create a child-centered environment, and support families while maintaining a clean, safe setting. Benefits include free YMCA membership, discounted programming, retirement plan, and health/dental/vision coverage.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• 2 years (2500 hours) verified childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons are offered.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines of the children.
• Supervise each child in your care by being able to identify, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST, always ensuring a safe environment.
• Uphold all YMCA, State, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for overall commitment to quality in childcare.
