Job summary

River-Crossing-Ymca in New Hope, PA is seeking an assistant teacher dedicated to nurturing young minds and building a warm, engaging classroom community.

This full-time, hourly role offers a schedule Monday–Friday 9:30am–5:30pm with pay between $15.50 and $17.00 per hour. Benefits include YMCA membership, affordable care discounts, and generous time off, supporting your growth within a nonprofit that strengthens the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor or equivalent coursework in childhood education, child development, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working with children in professional, volunteer, or family settings.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn.
• Be patient and kind with parents and children.
• Cultivate a safe, nurturing environment promoting physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
• Adjust curriculum to meet learning objectives for all children.
• Follow state and YMCA guidelines to ensure children’s safety and well-being.

What is needed for this job

• Are 21+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
• High school diploma
• Associate/Bachelor degree or college credits from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
• Passive recognize about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Child care experience preferred
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances
