Job summary

Food Management Search seeks a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician for a fast-growing food processing operation in Blue Island, IL. This on-site role covers a three-shift plant, focusing on hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance across 480V systems, pumps, conveyors, motors, and gearboxes.

You’ll diagnose faults using SCADA, PLCs, and VFDs, perform MIG and stick welding, and keep CMMS records, while adhering to OSHA/LOTO rules and contributing to a lean, kaizen-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Experience with 480V three-phase electrical systems is required.
• Industrial mechanical troubleshooting in food/chemical env preferred.
• Welding experience (MIG and stick) is preferred.
• Exposure to SCADA, PLCs or VFDs is a plus.
• CMMS experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and LOTO is required.
• Must be comfortable in a hot, dirty work environment.
• Must be able to pass and enforce safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Handle mechanical and electrical maintenance across a three-shift food processing plant.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems, including 480V equipment.
• Weld (MIG and stick), fabricate, and rig as jobs call for it.
• Install, align, and service pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, screens, and tanks.
• Use SCADA, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation to track down equipment faults.
• Complete PM work in the CMMS and keep work and parts records accurate.
• Follow and enforce LOTO, confined space, hot work, and OSHA rules.
• Help the maintenance manager plan and prioritize work.
• Be the person any shift can count on when something breaks.
