Job summary

Colonial Group in Chicago seeks a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team responsible for safe, efficient operation of high-volume laundry equipment. You will perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks, troubleshoot using manuals, manage a daily preventive maintenance schedule, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

This role requires 1–3 years supervisory and mechanical experience; shift Mon-Fri 5am-2pm, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficient with welding and hand/power tools.
• Familiarity with electrical motors.

Responsibilities

• Maintains plant equipment including high-volume washers and dryers.
• Repairs or replaces equipment as needed.
• Performs basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work.
• Troubleshoots issues using manuals and schematics.
• Orders parts and tools per policy.
• Maintains daily maintenance schedule and records.
• Conducts waste solids removal from treatment process.
• Troubleshoots wastewater equipment and performs preventative maintenance.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and follows safety policies.
• Assists maintenance manager with task assignment and staff development.
