Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Class A Industrial Laundry Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 10pm-6:30am) in a high-volume laundry facility in the Chicago area. The role focuses on safe, efficient maintenance of washing and drying equipment, plus basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, scheduling preventative maintenance, ordering parts, and ensuring a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical and basic electrical aptitude.
• Familiar with standard maintenance procedures and safety techniques.
• Basic knowledge of industrial laundry equipment and required codes.
• Ability to follow training, written and verbal instructions.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all plant equipment including high volume industrial washers/dryers.
• Repair and replace equipment; perform basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work.
• Troubleshoot using manuals and schematics; order parts as needed.
• Maintain daily and preventative maintenance schedules and records.
• Handle waste solids removal and wastewater-related maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety and lockout/tagout procedures; keep area clean and safe.
