Job summary

Vestis in Chicago is seeking a maintenance supervisor for an industrial laundry facility. The role leads a team, conducts preventive maintenance, and ensures safe, efficient operation of high-volume washers and dryers.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, parts procurement, and adherence to safety procedures. 1–3 years in mechanical/electromechanical roles is preferred. OT may be required on occasion.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• 1–3 years of mechanical experience required.
• 1–3 years of electromechanical experience preferred.
• Industrial Laundry experience a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, HazMat procedures helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all plant equipment including high volume industrial washers/dryers.
• Repairs and replaces equipment as necessary.
• Performs basic plumbing, mechanical and electrical work.
• Troubleshoots technical issues using manuals and schematics.
• Orders parts and tools per procurement policy.
• Maintains daily schedule control for maintenance.
• Conducts waste solids removal and processing.
• Performs troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment and follows safety policies.
• Assists maintenance manager with task delegation, quality control, and training.
