Job summary

Kymera International in Detroit is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to perform journey-level electrical design, installation, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical systems. You will sometimes perform mechanical tasks and may lead other staff.

You will troubleshoot, inspect and repair electrical distribution systems, motors, controls, wiring and components, ensuring compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Card preferred; candidates without card must pursue card through UAW.
• Minimum of 8 years industrial maintenance experience.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in tight spaces with mobility requirements.
• Must wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots).
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs occasionally and 25–50 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical distribution systems including motors and controls.
• Test electrical systems and continuity using ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
• Assist in writing specifications for repairs and new construction.
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic components.
• Maintain service and repair records.
• Respond to routine and emergency repair calls.
• Assist and back up other maintenance staff.
