Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an Advanced Imaging Engineer - Specialist to repair, calibrate, inspect and troubleshoot imaging and radiation oncology equipment to ensure safe, effective operations.

The role leads engineers, guides staff, and coordinates with customers, vendors and internal teams to ensure timely service and adherence to safety standards. Travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s in Engineering or related field, or combination of experience and education.
• Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in repair/maintenance of electronic or medical imaging equipment.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in repair/maintenance of Advanced Imaging and/or Radiation Oncology equipment with major imaging vendors at VCUHS.
• Licensure/Certification: None.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, electrical safety and healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair on assigned equipment.
• Perform installation, validation and maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Lead communications with customers and serve as escalation point for issues including installs.
• Own customer issues from dispatch to resolution.
• Ensure equipment meets safety and performance standards through testing and quality control.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to the use of equipment.
• Assist in procurement, installation, commissioning and maintenance of new technology for delivery.
• Coordinate with the customer and recommend value-added services that will help the customer.
