Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an Advanced Imaging Engineer - Specialist to repair, calibrate, test and maintain imaging and radiation oncology equipment. You will lead troubleshooting, perform safety tests, and assist in adopting new technology across sites.

The role requires strong electrical knowledge, vendor coordination, and ability to mentor engineers. Travel to off-site locations may be necessary for extended periods as part of installations and support.

Qualifications

Associate’s in Engineering or related field or combination of experience and education in lieu of degree.
Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field preferred.
Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in repair/maintenance of electronic or medical imaging equipment.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with Advanced Imaging and/or Radiation Oncology equipment and major vendors used at VCUHS.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair on assigned imaging equipment.
Install, validate and maintain imaging equipment.
Lead communications with customers and act as escalation point for issues.
Own customer issues from dispatch to resolution and ensure safety compliance.
Assist in procurement, installation and maintenance of new technology for delivery.
Provide coaching and feedback to junior engineers and coordinate with leadership.
