State Farm in Bloomington, IL is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to guide the CIAM platform, building secure, scalable customer identity solutions that power millions of interactions across digital channels.

You will partner with product, security, and UX teams to implement Passkeys, passwordless authentication, identity verification, and modern registration, while delivering reliable APIs and observable services.

Qualifications

• Apply advanced software engineering practices to design and build secure full-stack applications.
• Design and develop enterprise APIs and identity services.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues.
• Apply modern software engineering practices including: OO programming, secure coding, automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, containers, cloud-native development.
• Build highly available and observable services using enterprise monitoring and logging capabilities.
• Influence technical direction and engineering best practices across customer identity solutions.
• Support multiple concurrent initiatives while balancing roadmap delivery and production support.
• Apply modern security engineering practices including CIAM, identity platforms, authentication modernization, passkeys, MFA, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, identity federation, and fraud prevention technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain modern customer identity applications with secure, scalable solutions.
• Build secure authentication, registration, identity verification, and authorization capabilities for millions of interactions.
• Design highly available, resilient identity services aligned with security standards.
