Job summary
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks engineers to join the Los Angeles Class Instrumentation and Control group. You will gain experience testing, fleet support, and developing systems knowledge to support current fleet platforms, including the S6G Moored Training Ships.
This is a great opportunity to directly support the operating fleet while also being able to feed lessons learned to future designs. Specific responsibilities may include: Qualification as an I&C systems engineer, resolving fleet
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in a related technical, engineering or science field with minimum 9 years experience; or Master’s with 7 years; or Doctorate with 3 years; or currently a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Qualification as an I&C systems engineer and understanding of system operation.
- Resolution of operating fleet and shipyard issues.
- Documentation of technical recommendations in formal correspondence.
- Writing and verifying reactor plant procedures.
- Leading efforts to reduce routine maintenance burden.
- Work on data analytics of fleet data.
- Lead innovation initiatives to improve I&C for S6G project and power plant community.
