Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced A1B Plant Control and Indication engineer to support FORD-class aircraft carrier I&C systems. You will work with Navy, shipyards, vendors and customers to implement improvements and maintain mission-critical hardware and software.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, testing, and documentation, with opportunities to lead and contribute to future I&C initiatives across the fleet. U.S. citizenship and security requirements apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with 6+ years experience; or Master's with 4+ years; or Doctorate with 1+ year.
  • Current Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or RPCO Engineer at NNL qualifies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and implement improvements to hardware and software I&C designs for shipboard systems.
  • Develop procedures for equipment operation and troubleshoot I&C issues.
  • Conduct equipment tests and produce detailed technical reports.
  • Communicate with Navy, shipyards, vendors and customers.
