Job summary

Aalo Atomics in Idaho Falls, ID, seeks a Lead / Engineering Manager for the Instrumentation & Controls team to drive development of safety-critical digital control systems for next‑generation nuclear facilities, on site in Idaho Falls.

You will balance technical stewardship with people leadership, own the I&C roadmap from design through commissioning, and coordinate with reactor physics, thermal-hydraulics, and BOP engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Nuclear, or Control Systems Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in nuclear I&C or high-reliability environments.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams and project resources.
• Deep knowledge of PLCs, DCS, SCADA and BOP dynamics.
• Familiarity with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, IEEE 603, IEC 61513.

Responsibilities

• Lead I&C engineers, conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and growth planning.
• Own I&C safety-critical architecture roadmaps and hardware requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces with vendors, integrators, and prototype partners.
• Oversee system integration, testing strategies (HIL, FAT, SAT).
• Ensure regulatory audits and licensing documentation readiness.
