Job summary

Aalo Atomics in Idaho Falls is seeking an Engineering Manager for Electrical, Instrumentation & Control to lead the I&C team developing safety-critical systems for next‑generation nuclear facilities. You will own the I&C roadmap from concept through commissioning, balancing technical stewardship with people leadership.

Responsibilities include defining architecture roadmaps, coordinating with reactor physics and BOP teams, and ensuring compliance with nuclear standards while driving high

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Nuclear, or Control Systems Engineering (or related field).
• Experience leading engineering teams or project management in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, DCS architectures, SCADA, industrial networks, and BOP dynamics.
• Familiarity with IEEE 603, IEC 61513 and design control environments.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex designs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the I&C engineering team with regular performance reviews.
• Own resource allocation plans aligning skills with startup milestones and deliverables.
• Promote accountability, innovation, and psychological safety with clear expectations.
• Oversee safety-critical I&C designs, define architecture roadmaps and hardware requirements for DCS/PLC.
• Coordinate with reactor physics, thermal-hydraulics, and BOP teams.
• Manage interfaces with vendors, integrators, and prototype testing partners.
• Lead FAT/SAT strategies and commissioning handoffs.
