Job summary

Aalo Atomics in Idaho Falls seeks an Electrical Cognizant System Engineer (CSE) to provide lifecycle technical ownership of reactor protection, I&C hardware and software, and associated instrumentation within the CAF on the Aalo-X project. You’ll define requirements, monitor performance, and document configurations to ensure safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline is required.
• Experience with electrical/I&C systems in operating industrial facilities is required.
• Strong analytical and technical communication skills are essential.
• Ability to read and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control logic, loop diagrams, and specifications is required.
• Experience with PLCs, relays, sensors, signal conditioning, and electrical distribution is preferred.
• Professional Engineer license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of system functions, design requirements, safety functions, interfaces, and current configuration.
• Serve as main engineering contact for assigned electrical and I&C systems.
• Maintain SDDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and related documents.
• Understand interfaces among reactor protection, neutron instrumentation, and control systems; manage hardware, firmware, and software configuration.
