Job summary

BE&K Building Group seeks an experienced Superintendent for Hygenic Process Piping projects in the Indianapolis area. You will lead on-site crews, oversee specialized welding, and align design docs with field installation to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient project execution.

You will direct daily site activities, manage pre-construction and startup phases, and coordinate with the Project Manager, General Superintendent, and Project Executive.

Qualifications

• Hygenic Process Piping experience is required.
• 8–12 years of experience in construction projects.
• Strong leadership and team development abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with PMs and staff.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and maintain project controls.
• Demonstrated business judgment balancing budget and construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, and document day-to-day site activities including OSHA safety compliance.
• Direct field personnel according to the project plan.
• Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager.
• Report problems promptly to facilitate cost-effective solutions.
• Build effective relationships with clients, BE&K team members and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with General Superintendent and Project Executive on pre-mobilization activities.
• Develop start-up schedule with Project Manager and seek review by Project Executive and General Superintendent.
• Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field.
• Maintain baseline schedule per contracts and subcontractor input; track progress.
• Provide six-week look-ahead progress reports to PM and field staff.
• Ensure subcontractors participate in safety pre-construction meetings.
• Verify MSD sheets and site safety plans for subcontractors.
• Review project daily for OSHA compliance and safety plan adherence.
• Establish and insert pertinent benchmarks into the baseline schedule for quality.
• Ensure completion of 1st delivery and Benchmark inspections as per baseline schedule.
• Manage pre-construction site activities and field office mobilization.
• Organize field documentation for easy access and review.
• Manage subcontractor performance to quality and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with PM to resolve personnel issues and implement process revisions.
• Oversee all phases of construction documentation, excavations, and Job Site Utilization Plan.
• Attend/lead project turnover, mobilization, and coordination meetings.
• Attend/lead safety pre-construction and weekly foreman meetings, monthly schedule reviews.
• Attend Pull Plan and 6 Week Make Ready Plan meetings and project closeout meetings.
• Attend owner meetings and ensure smooth project closeout communication.
• Complete and implement construction office checklists, emergency lists, daily reports and logs.
• Maintain as-built drawings and drawing log; communicate updates to subcontractors.
• Closeout utilities transfer, owner training, work list and punch list responsibilities.
