Job summary

QISG, part of Quanta, leads high-voltage transmission projects from design through construction. The Project Engineer will oversee the design team, provide engineering to support EPC proposals, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance across projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong civil/electrical background with 5+ years in high voltage substations or transmission lines, plus a PE license and proven customer-facing experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in electric utility engineering for HV substation or transmission lines
• PE license required
• Strong technical knowledge across civil, structural, electrical, or mechanical engineering
• Experience reviewing calculations, drawings, specs
• Ability to travel 10-20%

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, including design, permitting, construction support and closeout.
• Review calculations, drawings, and specifications for substations or transmission lines.
• Keep projects on budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and safety and environmental rules.
• Coordinate with agencies, contractors, and the public for project delivery.
• Lead quality control to ensure high workmanship and materials.
• Maintain detailed project status reports and engineering records.
• Own the quality and accuracy of your work.
• Other duties as assigned.
