Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to support the design and execution of utility infrastructure across its campuses. The role interfaces with energy leaders, utilities, and project teams to plan and build substations for data center growth.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, FE/EIT registration, and 10+ years in substation engineering, with 15kV–500kV experience and travel up to 25%. Virginia-based compensation details are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
• FE and/or EIT registration required or in progress.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in substation engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with substation design software and equipment (15kV–500kV).
• Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, NEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design life cycle of high voltage substations under EPC contracts.
• Provide technical guidance for development, design, and installation of substations.
• Oversee construction, installation, and commissioning of substation equipment.
• Identify execution risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Lead initiatives to improve program-level execution.
