Job summary

Montage International in Newport Beach is seeking a Lead Host/Hostess to ensure guests enjoy a welcoming, seamless dining experience while they wait for their table. You will supervise fellow hosts/hostesses, manage reservations, and uphold the resort’s high service standards throughout shifts.

The role requires at least two years in a hosting position, strong computer skills (OpenTable, Word, Excel), and the ability to greet guests warmly, answer calls, and coordinate seating with precision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficiency with computer programs (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and reservation systems (OpenTable) is important.

Responsibilities

• Control seating flow and manage reservation lists.
• Greet guests professionally and warmly.
• Inform guests of daily resort activities and upsell the resort.
• Handle phone etiquette and reservation requests.
• Assign duties and oversee host staff to ensure station readiness.
• Oversee OpenTable reservations and guest special requests.
• Lead by example and provide direct guest service when needed.
• Adhere to sanitation/health regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage to achieve outstanding results.
