GEO Group is seeking a Lead Hospital Officer to supervise detainees in a hospital setting and uphold strict security protocols. The role requires enforcing restraint procedures, preserving safety, and ensuring proper documentation.

Key duties include maintaining custody, restricting visits and calls per contract, and reporting incidents promptly. A high school diploma and relevant licenses are required, with travel and overtime expected as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state requisites for employment.
• Three (3) years of continuous law enforcement related experience including at least two (2) years as a lead supervisor or completion of GEO’s Supervision Training Course.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must possess a State Firearms License and a State Security Guard License.
• Must have completed an approved training program resulting in a certification of satisfactory completion in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• Ability to work overtime frequently and travel extended periods.
• Must be able to report to work regularly and work up to sixteen (16) hours within a rolling 24 hour period.

Responsibilities

• Custody and control of detainees in the hospital is maintained at all times.
• Follow restraint protocols outlined in Medical Guarding Procedures.
• Ensure restraints do not interfere with medical procedures or harm the detainee.
• Maintain detainee positioning within eyesight.
• Restrict outside visitors unless required by contract or court order.
• Restrict detainee telephone calls unless required by contract.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and report to Transportation Supervisor per policies.
• Log all events in a duty log and report unusual events immediately.
• Ensure detainees are properly secured prior to leaving the hospital.
• Follow all safety laws, regulations, and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
