Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. Responsibilities include preparing meals, following menus, maintaining sanitation, and supervising dietary staff when needed.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience and holds or is willing to obtain a ServSafe Certificate. This on-site role in Thousand Oaks, CA offers a range of duties and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year.
• Must read and follow technical procedures and recipes.
• Strong math skills for portions, fractions, and percentages.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and follow prepared menus and portion controls.
• Record food temperatures and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Assist with serving meals and support other dietary staff.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
