Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Software Systems Engineer III for Lunar Permanence in Colorado. You will help define software and system autonomy across lunar programs, collaborating with engineers and program managers to ensure safe, reliable spaceflight.

You will lead cross-functional teams, shape requirements and verification plans, and address hardware-software integration challenges while promoting a culture of inclusion and quality in pursuit of safe human spaceflight.

Qualifications

BS or higher in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
5 years professional experience minimum.
Experience in developing software requirements, verification plans, and test cases.
Experience across systems and software disciplines, leading cross functional groups.
Experience in spacecraft design and operations, fault management design.

Responsibilities

Define system autonomy behaviors and software requirements with systems engineers, developers, and program managers.
Lead team members on software systems engineering best practices.
Set direction and goals for the team regarding requirements, verification events, and test cases.
Manage hardware-software integration problems across vehicle and mission design teams.
Ensure safety-critical software development processes are followed for safe missions.
