Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Abilene, TX is seeking a skilled rigging technician to set up and rig large-scale equipment outdoors in varying conditions. You will follow plans, use crane signals, and work closely with supervision to ensure safe installation.

Proven ability to read plans, select rigging components, and perform measurements is essential. This role involves heights, heavy materials, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and experience in the field or related area is preferred.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and rigging large-scale heavy equipment.
• Position, align, or level machines, equipment, and/or structures.
• Shakeout of items to be installed into erectable sequence and rigging of same for crane hoisting with crane signals.
• Guide rigged items into position using a tag line.
• Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
• Select rigging components and develop basic rigging procedures for general load handling activities
• Identify suitable rigging points for the load to be handled and select the rated rigging based on its anticipated tension
• Maintain working understanding of LHE dynamics and their associated hazards
