Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a Rigging Technician to plan, lay out and install rigging for lifting equipment and heavy machinery at industrial sites. The role requires reading plans, following specifications, and ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.

Daily tasks include signaling with crane operators, positioning loads, and inspecting work for quality and safety. Candidates should be capable of moving around construction sites, handling tools and equipment, and working

Qualifications

Must have strong communication skills and be able to understand and transmit written and oral instructions.
Ability to read and follow complex instructions on plans and specs.
Physically capable of performing rigging and site movements in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Set up and rig large-scale heavy equipment.
Position, align, or level machines, equipment, and structures.
Shakeout items for installation and rigging for crane hoisting with proper signals.
Guide rigged items into position using tag lines.
Estimate sizes, distances, quantities and needed resources for activities.
Inspect subordinate work for compliance with contract plans and specs; address deficiencies.
Select rigging components and develop basic rigging procedures for load handling.
Identify suitable rigging points and select rated rigging based on anticipated tension.
Maintain understanding of LHE dynamics and related hazards.
