Athens Services is seeking a Lead Equipment Operator for our Transfer Station in Phelan, CA. You will lead heavy equipment operations, manage daily landfill activities, and ensure safety standards are followed while processing green waste and organics into compost and mulch.

The role requires five years in MSW landfills, a high school diploma, reliable communication, and the ability to read safety manuals and site plans. Overtime may be required, and a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in a MSW landfill.
• Ability to manage day-to-day operations and act in the supervisor's absence.
• Provide outstanding customer service to the public and staff.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must read and understand safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure tipping table is clean and orderly for daily intake.
• Inspect equipment and perform pre-trip and post-trip checks.
• Keep hazardous and prohibited wastes out of the transfer station and landfills.
• Report unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
• Maintain tipping table clearance for safe customer unloading.
• Overtime may be required as needed.
