Job summary

Athens Services is seeking a Lead Process Equipment Operator to supervise and optimize heavy equipment operations at the landfill. You will oversee daily activities, ensure safety and efficiency, and coordinate with the supervisor on site.

The role requires five years of MSW landfill experience, strong leadership, and excellent customer service. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; position is on-site with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in a MSW landfill.
• Ability to handle day-to-day landfill operations and manage site when supervisor is offsite.
• Provide outstanding customer service to the public, inspectors, and staff.
• High School Diploma and/or GED.
• Read and understand safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions for vehicles.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without accommodations.
• Understand and interpret site plans.

Responsibilities

• Keep tipping table clean and orderly for daily unloads.
• Ensure safety and compliance while loading and processing waste.
• Inspect equipment and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Keep hazardous waste out of transfer areas and landfills.
• Be aware of emergency procedures and contacts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; overtime may be required.
