Company in Victorville, CA is seeking a Lead Heavy Equipment Operator to manage landfill operations and lead a team of equipment operators. The role includes operating dozers, loaders, excavators and rock trucks to compact and push trash and cover soil as needed.

The position requires five years of MSW landfill experience, strong safety knowledge, and solid communication skills. Overtime may be required; competitive wages and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in a MSW landfill.
• Ability to handle day-to-day operations of the landfill and manage site when supervisor is offsite.
• Provide outstanding customer service to the public, county inspectors, and staff.
• High School Diploma and/or GED.
• Able to read and understand safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions pertaining to assigned vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Lead heavy equipment operations at the landfill.
• Oversee and perform pre/post trips on equipment.
• Inspect and maintain equipment; keep waste areas orderly and safe.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and procedures; report unsafe conditions.
