Job summary

FlatironDragados in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Superintendent to lead heavy civil construction projects. You will plan work methods, coordinate equipment and crews, and ensure work aligns with contract drawings and specifications.

The role requires strong communication, safety leadership, and the ability to read plans to mitigate risks and keep projects on schedule. A relevant degree and STS preference are noted, with a valid driver’s license and a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

• 8+ years heavy civil construction experience.
• 5+ years construction management experience.
• STS certification preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of site equipment operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of local union or prevailing wage rules (if applicable).
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract plans.

Responsibilities

• Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs and work schedule for assigned project work.
• Review project specifications to support job setup and coordinate with field teams and utility companies.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to ensure equipment and materials meet project budgets and schedule.
• Forecast work schedule and provide scheduling recommendations to mitigate issues.
• Provide technical input to identify and resolve project risks including safety and schedule activities.
• Promote strict adherence to safety and process controls and identify training needs.
• Supervise sub-contractor production and adjust schedules or methods as needed.
