Job summary

Westview Healthcare Center is seeking a cook to manage the kitchen when the Dietary Supervisor is absent. You will prepare tasty meals in large quantities, follow menus and portion guides, and document temperatures.

You will also prepare pureed foods, assist with meal service, supervise staff in the absence of the supervisor, and maintain sanitary kitchen conditions. High school diploma and 1 year hospital/long-term care cooking experience required, ServSafe certification mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year cooking in hospital or long-term care.
• Must obtain ServSafe certificate; PCC knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area safe, clean and sanitary.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and follow menus.
• Follow portion control guides and document temperatures.
• Prepare pureed foods and assist with serving meals.
• Supervise dietary staff in the supervisor's absence.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
