Job summary

River City Construction in Greenville, NC is seeking an Underground Distribution Directional Drill Operator to lead the crew in constructing and maintaining underground power lines. You will operate horizontal directional drills, interpret blueprints and specs, and coordinate daily field tasks while prioritizing safety and compliance.

This on-site role requires 3–5 years of HDD experience, ability to travel as needed, strong leadership, and capability to train less experienced workers.

Qualifications

• Underground distribution/drilling experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Must possess leadership and training skills.
• Must be able to work outdoors, travel, and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate Directional Drill for installation of underground power lines.
• Lead and train crew in safe and productive work procedures.
• Read utility locates and coordinate day lighting.
• Ensure permits and locates are complete and on site.
• Perform pre-job tailgate briefings.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
• Perform at heights and in confined spaces as required.
