Job summary

ITG Communications, LLC is hiring a Drill Operator in Raleigh, NC to operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment and install conduit, fiber, or utility infrastructure. You will read prints, locate utilities, and ensure safe, accurate bore placements while following project specs.

The role requires 1–3 years of HDD experience, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1–3 years of directional drilling experience or equivalent training.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
Ability to read construction plans and understand underground utility locates.

Responsibilities

Operate drilling rigs and support equipment to install underground utilities according to project specifications.
Read and interpret construction prints, locate utilities, and mark underground services accurately.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
Ensure proper placement of conduit using bore logs and tracking systems.
Collaborate with field crews to set up equipment, mix drilling fluid, and pull back conduit or pipe.
Maintain accurate records of bore lengths, depths, and site conditions.
Adhere to all company and regulatory safety procedures and requirements.
Assist with potholing, locating, trenching, or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Work in various terrain and weather conditions while maintaining productivity and quality.
