Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, create custom splints, and plan recovery with a focus on upper-extremity rehabilitation.

Responsibilities include supervision of OT staff, orthotic fabrication, post-surgical rehab, and collaboration with surgeons and other clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to patient age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises OT Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand/upper-extremity.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative rehab patients.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehab as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
