Job summary

Norman Regional Health System Hand Therapy program seeks a Certified Hand Therapist to deliver specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, design recovery plans, and fabricate custom orthoses.

You will supervise assistants and students, collaborate with hand surgeons and other therapists, and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning. A Bachelor's degree is required; a DPT/OTD is preferred; 3+ years' upper-extremity outpatient experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• DPT or OTD preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited OT program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehab and outpatient therapy.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
