Job summary

Norman Regional Health System seeks a Certified Hand Therapist to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, develop recovery plans, and supervise OT staff. The role emphasizes orthotic fabrication and close collaboration with hand surgeons and physicians.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree and OT/PT credentials; a DPT/OTD is preferred. Experience in post-surgical rehabilitation and outpatient therapy is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• DPT or OTD preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation/outpatient therapy.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises OT Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
