Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Oklahoma is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. You will evaluate and plan care, deliver therapeutic interventions, and supervise therapy staff in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include orthotic/splint fabrication, postoperative care, scar management and return-to-work rehabilitation, with collaboration among hand surgeons and other clinicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy
• Current state PT or OT license
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient condition and establish plan of care for hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder rehabilitation
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to patient age and disabilities
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services
• Direct and supervise activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions; provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals; participate in interdisciplinary care planning
