Job summary
California State University, Bakersfield is seeking a Lead Groundsworker to supervise a grounds crew and oversee planting, irrigation, and landscape maintenance across campus.
Under general supervision, you will plan schedules, train staff, monitor safety, and ensure compliance with pesticide use and environmental practices. This is a full-time, on-site role with strong benefits and a dedicated facilities team.
Qualifications
- Two years’ recent grounds maintenance experience.
- Valid CA driver’s license by date of hire.
- Strong knowledge of grounds maintenance methods.
Responsibilities
- Oversee grounds staff and coordinate irrigation, mowing, pruning.
- Train Groundsworkers and student assistants.
- Maintain records of work orders and chemical use.
