Job summary

UCLA Facilities Management is seeking a Groundskeeper Lead to oversee outdoor maintenance across the 419-acre campus. You will supervise a team, coordinate tasks, and ensure health and beauty of lawns, gardens, and athletic fields while following safety guidelines.

The role requires strong horticultural knowledge, experience with equipment, and the ability to manage schedules under varying workloads. California licensing and forklift certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have broad horticultural knowledge and pest/disease recognition.
• Experience trimming and edging lawns; plant cultivation skills.
• Ability to safely operate grounds equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to manage work schedules and supervise staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
• Capable of handling fluctuating workloads and emergencies.
• Good written and spoken English for orders and reports.
• Read standard English text to follow orders and perform tasks.
• Math skills to calculate basic irrigation principles.
